Why visual planning is good for your business?

28 Sep

You wouldn’t head out on a family vacation without some idea of where you were going, what you were going to do when you got there, and how long you were going to stay, right?
Then why would you try to run your business without answering any of those questions?!
As knowledgeable or as passionate as you may be about your industry, you can’t expect to see success if you’re flying blind. Until you come up with a plan, you and your employees will never be on the same page.
And that’s where visual planning comes in!
Visual planning is a business term that simply means coming up with a strategy for your business — whether it’s a plan for a new product, for a special project, or for the way your company operates as a whole. After all, unless everyone knows what the end goal is, you won’t be able to work efficiently to get there!
Thanks to visual planning software (like Ganttic), you can keep everyone on the same page, without having to hold a bunch of meetings or waste a ton of time. Instead, everyone can have the details of the plan right on their computer screens.
That way, when it comes time to reschedule something, change something, or evaluate something, everyone will be able to see it. Plus, everyone will be able to see what everyone else is responsible for. It’s like getting a bird’s eye view of the entire project!
Luckily, visual planning isn’t tough to do. In fact, here at Ganttic, we designed our software to be as user-friendly as possible (with things like color-coding and click-and-drag). That way, you spend less time fiddling with the software and more time working towards your goals…
…Isn’t that the way it’s supposed to be?!

Trying too hard to be efficient might bring down your efficiency…

1 Nov

It has been said that efficiency is doing the thing right and effectiveness is doing the right thing. This strategy is vital in the business world. In an economy that is as unstable as the current economy is, certainly no one can afford to be ineffective and inefficient. If you do not have your resources properly in line then you are not operating your business to its highest potential. This greatly affects a business’s bottom line.

Customers are bringing the money in. Resources, we use to serve them are taking money out. So, resources should be planned carefully to ensure their efficiency. There are several tools to plan resources. Gantt chart isn’t anything new. Ganttic has just reinvented it.
Certain software programs such as MS Excel and Ms Project may appear to provide a useful method of controlling resources, but the truth is that these programs simply do not handle the job properly. Excel is far too often used as an all-purpose program, while in fact it is not truly designed to operate in this manner. Ms Project is designed to monitor operations and resources but it does it in a single handed manner and handling just one project at time. It does eventually get the job done, but it certainly won’t be in the timeliest manner.
The modern business owner simply cannot afford to waste time, money or resources. This is where Ganttic comes into play. This resource managing software is designed to multi-task, and handle multiple projects simultaneously thereby providing the ultimate efficiency and effectiveness. Ganttic is a web-based, user-friendly solution designed to assure a company that their resources are being properly utilized. Since it has the ability to monitor multiple programs simultaneously it virtually becomes the nucleolus of the operations.
Ganttic oversees all aspects of the operation from transportation to manpower and equipment. Providing the operator with the hands on capability to control, assign and prioritize operations, Ganttic simplifies the operations process and allows multi-user interface providing a link between multiple management staff and employees. This program literally assures that all individuals are on the same page.
Accessibility + affordability = feasibility. This basically means that in order for a program to be truly useful and efficient it must be affordable and accessible. Ganttic is web-based and therefore accessible from anywhere and it can be used by up to 5 users for absolutely no cost to the company’s bottom line. If the need arises to add additional users then there is a reasonable fee for the additional users. This free access also allows up to 10 resources to be monitored simultaneously.
The user friendly structure of this program provides ease of use and provides the ability to drag and drop task bars and manipulate resources and tasks in a manner that can be easily completed by even the most unseasoned computer operator. The flexibility of this software makes this program a vital tool for any company that is looking to increase its bottom line and be more efficient and effective. There may be other ways to get the job done but there is only one right way – Ganttic.

Most of the businesses use resource scheduling in their everyday life, but most common tools for it are still e-mails, paper wallcharts, notebooks and Excel spreadsheets. Specialized tools are expensive, complicated and hard to implement.

We’ve been listening our users  from very different areas of life: design agencies, laboratories, churches, schools, manufacturers, service providers, equipment and car rentals, construction and logistics companies scheduling their teams, equipment and facilities in Ganttic on daily bases. Most of them are using MS Excel for planning , but even in very small teams it does not work just right.

To put some weight on my words I present you a side-by-side comparison of planning in MS Excel and Ganttic resource scheduler.
